Sreten Manojlović

Sreten Manojlović completed his vocal studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the class of Sebastian Vittucci. Early on in his artistic career, he was supported by the Belgrade Baroque Academy and the New Belgrade Opera, which resulted in an intensive study of 17th and 18th century repertoire. He made his operatic debut as Zoroastro in Handel's »Orlando«. This was followed by roles such as Caronte and Plutone in Monteverdi's »L'Orfeo«, as well as the bass part in Mozart's Requiem. Engagements in the 2023/24 season include the role of Jesus in Bach's St. John Passion in Versailles with the Orchestre de l'Opéra Royal, a concert tour with Dorothee Oberlinger and the Salzburg Camerata and his debut at the Handel Festival in Göttingen. He has also caught attention in Heidelberg, where he performed the role of Zebul in Handel's »Jeptha« with the Bach Choir and the Philharmonischen Orchester Heidelberg in the Peterskirche.
In the 2022/23 season, he played the role of Polypheme in Handel's »Acis and Galatea« with the Concertgebouw Orchestra under the direction of Leonardo García Alarcón and in Pierre Audi's production at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He made his debut as Figaro in Mozart's »Le nozze di Figaro« and as Gelone in Cesti's »L'Orontea« at the Theater Aachen. With the ensemble Les arts florissants, he sang the role of Simon in Haydn's »Die Jahreszeiten« under the direction of William Christie on a tour of France and Switzerland. At the Theater an der Wien, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, he interpreted the role of Polifemo in Porpora's »Polifemo« under the musical direction of George Petrou with the orchestra Armonia Atenea.
Further concert and opera engagements have taken him to important venues such as the Barbican Centre London, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Auditorio Madrid in collaboration with ensembles such as the Münchner Hofkapelle, the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra and Concerto Köln.
