Katharina Gross

Katharina Gross has lived in Mannheim since 2002 and is an alumna of the city's State University of Music and Performing Arts. With her base camp in the Rhein-Neckar-Delta, she is in demand as a bass across all genres and nationwide.
She was first cast at the municipal stages of Baden-Baden, Heidelberg and Mannheim in productions including »Elektra«, »Woyzeck«, »Die Dreigroschenoper«, »Next to Normal«, »Cabaret« as well as »Jesus Christ Superstar« and »La Cage aux Folles«. For the Kevin O'Day Ballet, she played John King's music live in Open Strings and composed her own music for choreographies by Luis Eduardo Sayago as well as a piece for the »Maria Stuart« production with Helena Daehler at Theater Koblenz.
Katharina Gross was sidelady with Paddy Kelly's Eurosarium Tour, Deng Xiaomei's international ensemble, Cris Gavazzoni, Nebuleuse Band, is currently bassist with John Noville's live band and the gala band »DC and the Gang« as well as a regular member of the European collective »Sisters in Jazz«.
With her band »Kriegstäubchen« she was a composer scholarship holder of the GVL and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts. Katharina Gross has a teaching position for electric bass and double bass at the PH Heidelberg and has been a teacher at the music school of the city of Mannheim since 2023.
