The number of ship wrecks on the seven seas keeps rising. Rumour in the press has it that out there is an unidentified sea monster that sinks ships. Or might it be an unknown human-made object pulling these ships down with it? Professor Aronnax has to get to the bottom of this rumour, but soon finds himself in unforeseen distress at sea. Aronnax and a crew member ae thrown overboard, but survive on the back of a strange apparatus. Their saviour is no other than the erratic Captain Nemo. In his submarine, he takes them along to the fascinating underwater world threatened by humans. It doesn't take long, however, until they realize that they are not so much Captain Nemo's guests as his prisoners and that he has his own plans ...
