Jörg Halubek

Jörg Halubek specialises in early music as a conductor, harpsichordist and organist.
During the current season, he took over the musical direction of the production of Haydn's »Creation« at Theater Basel with the La Cetra Barockorchester. Other highlights include his engagements as a soloist with the Freiburger Barockorchester and as Artistic Director of the International Händel-Akademie Karlsruhe. In 2021, he conducted »Ombra e Luce«, a production of Monteverdi's madrigals at the Mannheimer Nationaltheater, which continued the Monteverdi cycle there. He took over the artistic direction of the Academy at the International Händelfestspielen Karlsruhe and rediscovered Johann Sigismund Kusser's opera »Adonis« with his ensemble and renowned singers at his Stuttgart Baroque Festival Week. In recent years, Jörg Halubek has conducted at Komische Oper Berlin, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Staatstheater Kassel, Händel-Festspiele Halle, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Opernhaus Wuppertal and Liederhalle Stuttgart, among others. He has worked with directors such as Harry Kupfer, Calixto Bieito, Lorenzo Fioroni, Markus Bothe, Stephan Müller and Jochen Biganzoli. In recent years, he has released recordings of Claudio Monteverdi's »Marienvesper«, Johann David Heinichen's »Flavio« and Giuseppe Antonio Brescianello's »Tisbe«.
In addition to his work as a conductor, Jörg Halubek has been active as a harpsichordist and organist in Germany and abroad since winning the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig in 2004.
