Eva Lillian Wagner

Eva Lillian Wagner, born in Seattle in 1995, studied Fine Arts at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg, specialising in stage design. In addition to several stage designs, including at Schauspielhaus Zürich, Gessnerallee Zürich, Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern and Landestheater Marburg, she is constantly developing large-scale, immersive spatial installations. In 2019, she received the HISCOX Art Prize 2019 for the installation »istquasidereingang« together with Saskia Stoltze; in 2021, she showed the immersive spatial installation »Filiale in der Zähringerstrasse« together with Natascha Leonie Simons at the Kunstraum Sattelkammer in Bern. This was followed by two seasons at Schauspielhaus Zürich, where, in addition to working as a stage design assistant, she met director Julia Skof and performance artist Sultan Çoban and worked together several times as a stage and costume designer at Schauspielhaus Zürich.
In February 2024, she developed the set and costume design for »Planet der Hasen« at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern under the direction of Dominique Enz, with whom she has worked continuously since her time as a student. In May 2024, she developed the stage and costume design for »dream again reality« under the artistic direction of Julia Skof and Christina Galli, which was performed at Schauspielhaus Zürich and at this year's »Spiilplätz Festival,« the national meeting of theatre and dance youth clubs in Switzerland. In summer 2024, she presented a new stage design work at the Gessnerallee for the performance artist Sultan Çoban, where she was also jointly responsible for the lighting design.
In autumn 2024, she will show a new immersive spatial installation at UA26 in Vienna under the curation of Vivien Kämpf and Robert Bergmann.
