Janine Werthmann, born 1981 in Dinslaken, lives in Berlin. She has been working as a freelance costume designer for theatre, opera, ballet and music productions since 2006. Her work has taken her to Nationaltheater Mannheim, Theater Basel, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Theater Wiesbaden, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Theater Münster, Luzerner Theater and Deutsche Oper Berlin. She has worked with directors such as Burkhard Kosminski, Michael Simon, Tobias Heyder, Tim Plegge, Elia Rediger and Simon Solberg. She also has a long-standing working relationship with Cilli Drexel. In 2024/25, Janine Werthmann will design the costumes for »Planet B« by Yael Ronen and Itai Reicher for Theater und Orchester Heidelberg in a production by Cilli Drexel.
