Pia Richter

Pia Richter, born in Celle in 1987, studied theater and literature at the LMU Munich before switching to the directing program at the Otto Falckenberg School in 2011. As part of her studies, she staged productions including »Virgin Suicides« with a cast of actors and dancers at PATHOS Munich, »Trunkener Prozess« by Bernard Marie Koltès and »Ulrike Maria Stuart« by Elfriede Jelinek at the Werkraum of the Münchner Kammerspiele.
She was awarded a debut grant from the City of Munich's Department of Culture, as part of which she created the independent project »Walk of Shame« (2016) at HochX Munich. In collaboration with Liliane Koch and Thea Rinderli, she was invited to take part in the Ruhrtriennale's young talent program in 2017, where her performance »ROAR« on the possibilities of female comedy and its performative production was shown.
Her productions have also been invited to the Young Actors Week in Salzburg (2014), the Your Chance Festival in Moscow (2015), the Körber Studio Junge Regie (2015) in Hamburg, the Summer UP festival at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg (2017) and the Ruhrtriennale Masterclass (2017) in Mülheim. For her production of »Ein Berg, viele« (2020) by Magdalena Schrefel at Schauspiel Leipzig, she was invited to the Heidelberger Stückemarkt (2021).
Productions have taken her to the Theater Oberhausen, Theater Regensburg, Theater Koblenz, Staatstheater Meiningen, Theater Münster, Staatstheater Cottbus, Staatstheater Kassel as well as Schauspiel Leipzig.
