Jeremy Ovenden

British tenor Jeremy Ovenden is considered one of the most sought-after Mozart tenors of his generation and is a popular international guest on the opera and concert stage. The title roles of Mozart's »Idomeneo« and »La Clemenza di Tito« form a focal point of his work on the operatic stage, with which Jeremy Ovenden has appeared at the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse, the Theater an der Wien, the Angers Nantes Opéra and the Mostly Mozart Festival in New York. As an internationally sought-after concert singer, Jeremy Ovenden has worked with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Ivor Bolton, Myung-Whun Chung, Iván Fischer, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Philippe Herreweghe, René Jacobs, Vladimir Jurowski, Bernard Labadie, Riccardo Muti, Sir Simon Rattle and many others in his career to date. Concert highlights of his career to date include Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings and his »War Requiem« with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. In the current season, Jeremy Ovenden can be heard in the title role of Mozart's »La Clemenza di Tito« at the Antwerp and Ghent opera houses as well as at the Philharmonie Luxembourg. Jeremy Ovenden's extensive discography includes recordings of Johann Sebastian Bach's »St Mark Passion« and »St John Passion« as well as a selection of his cantata works. Jeremy Ovenden's solo album with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under Jonathan Cohen, entitled »An Italian Journey« and released on the Signum Classics label, is entirely dedicated to Mozart.
