Tommy Baldu

Tommy Baldu was born in Karlsruhe in 1966. He began working as a professional musician in 1990. He has toured and recorded music with Edo Zanki, Herwig Mitteregger, Six Was Nine (support tour 1996 with Tina Turner), Laith Al Deen, Emiliana Torrini, Rebekka Bakken, Triband, Sebastian Studnitzky, André Heller, Söhne Mannheims, Xavier Naidoo, Music Show VOX TV, Gregor Meyle, Daniel Wirtz, Mrs Greenbird, Daniel Stelter, Rilke Projekt, Stephan Eicher, Georg Ringsgwandl and many more. He favours vintage instruments and unconventional ideas. Indie icons such as Icelandic guitarist Ómar Guðjónsson and US singer-songwriter Fink have already recorded in his home studio. Baldu is one of Germany's most sought-after drummers and an internationally acclaimed producer. In 2012, he founded Das Vereinsheim, a collective for intensive dialogue between musicians, which performs three times a year in Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Freiburg and Mainz. He has worked with guitarist Daniel Stelter for many years in the Ringsgwandl tour band and on his own musical projects. Tommy Baldu is a driving force, a dynamic yet sensitive drummer whose sound aesthetic ranges from dusty and raw to innovative.
